夏の終わり、夏の思い出作りに軽井沢・万座・嬬恋を巡る2泊3日の信州旅へ行ってきました！ 自然の美しさと美味しいもの、そして最高の温泉に癒される、大満足の旅程をご紹介します。
Towards the end of summer, we embarked on a 3-day / 2-night trip to Karuizawa, Manza, and Tsumagoi to make some summer memories! Here’s an introduction to our incredibly satisfying itinerary, filled with natural beauty, delicious food, and the best hot springs.
１日目：旧軽井沢散策と万座のBBQナイト
旅の始まりは、何度訪れても魅力的な旧軽井沢。まずはランチで「レストラン 酢重正之 軽井沢」さんへ。長野名物を使ったメイン料理に、たっぷりの美味しいおつゆ、そして玄米ごはんの定食は、素材の味を存分に活かした優しい味わいで、旅の始まりにぴったりでした。
食後は甘いものが欲しくなり、「アトリエ・ド・フロマージュ 軽井沢店」さんで濃厚なチーズソフトクリームを堪能！ 口の中に広がるチーズの風味はまさに絶品。お土産には、日本では珍しい牛乳製の酵母系熟成チーズ「ココン」をゲットしました。旧軽井沢銀座をぶらぶら歩いていると、香ばしいパンの香りが。「ブランジェ浅野屋 軽井沢旧道本店」さんで、季節のパン詰め合わせを購入。そして、地元産のベリーAを使ったワインも手に入れ、宿での楽しみが増えました。
旧軽井沢を後にして向かったのは、「白糸の滝」。幾筋もの白い糸のように流れ落ちる滝は、見ているだけで心が洗われるよう。マイナスイオンをたっぷり浴びてリフレッシュできました。この日の宿泊は「万座プリンスホテル」。ディナーは夏らしいバーベキュープラン！ 涼しい高原の風を感じながら、美味しいお肉や野菜をいただくのは最高の贅沢でした。
Day 1: Old Karuizawa Stroll and Manza BBQ Night
Our journey began in Old Karuizawa, a place that’s always charming no matter how many times you visit. First, for lunch, we went to “Restaurant Suehiro Shōji Karuizawa“. Their set meal, featuring a main dish made with Nagano specialties, plenty of delicious soup, and brown rice, was a gentle flavor that highlighted the ingredients’ natural taste—perfect for the start of our trip.
After the meal, craving something sweet, we indulged in rich cheese soft-serve ice cream at “Atelier de Fromage Karuizawa Store“. The cheese flavor spreading in our mouths was truly exquisite. As a souvenir, we got “Cocon,” a rare yeast-ripened cheese made from cow’s milk in Japan. Strolling through Old Karuizawa Ginza, we were drawn by the fragrant smell of bread. We bought a seasonal bread assortment at “Boulangerie Asanoya Karuizawa Kyudo Honten“. We also picked up some wine made from local Berry A grapes, adding to our anticipation for enjoying it at the inn.
Leaving Old Karuizawa behind, we headed to “Shiraito Falls“. The numerous strands of water falling like white threads were so calming to watch. We felt completely refreshed, soaking in plenty of negative ions.
Our accommodation for the night was “Manza Prince Hotel“. Dinner was a summery BBQ plan! Enjoying delicious meat and vegetables amidst the cool highland breeze was a supreme luxury.
２日目：雄大な自然と家族の絆、そして星空温泉
万座プリンスホテルでの朝は、夜に続いて露天風呂へ。混浴の露天風呂からは、雄大な景色を一望できます。家族みんなで絶景を眺めながら温泉を楽しめるのは、本当に素晴らしい体験でした。
チェックアウト後、向かったのは「鬼押出し園」。浅間山の噴火でできた溶岩の芸術は、その迫力に圧倒されます。奇岩が織りなす独特の景観、そして園内のお寺からの眺めは絶景！ ぜひ一度訪れてほしいスポットです。
ランチ後は「嬬恋プリンスホテル」へ。リノベーションされたばかりというお部屋は、機能的で快適。ホテルの広々とした芝生で、旧軽井沢で買ったワインやチーズ、パンを広げてプチピクニックを楽しみました。開放的な空間でのんびり過ごす時間は、旅の疲れを癒してくれます。
夜は、嬬恋プリンスホテル自慢のビュッフェを堪能。蟹や和牛など、良質な素材をふんだんに使った豪華な料理の数々に舌鼓を打ちました。そして、この日の締めくくりも温泉！ 露天風呂からは、満点の星空が広がり、なんと野生の蛍も舞っていました。星空と蛍の幻想的なコンビネーションは、忘れられない感動的な体験となりました。
Day 2: Grand Nature, Family Bonds, and Starry Hot Springs
Our morning at Manza Prince Hotel began with another dip in the open-air bath, just like the night before. From the mixed-gender open-air bath, we had panoramic views of the magnificent landscape. Being able to enjoy the hot spring with the whole family while gazing at such spectacular scenery was truly wonderful.
After checking out, we headed to “Onioshidashi Park”「鬼押出し園」. The volcanic art created by the eruption of Mount Asama was overwhelming in its power. The unique landscape of bizarre rocks, and the view from the temple within the park, were breathtaking! It’s a spot I highly recommend visiting at least once.
For lunch, we went to “Tsumagoi Prince Hotel“. The rooms, freshly renovated, were functional and comfortable. On the hotel’s spacious lawn, we enjoyed a mini-picnic with the wine, cheese, and bread we bought in Old Karuizawa. Spending leisurely time in such an open space was truly rejuvenating.
In the evening, we savored the Tsumagoi Prince Hotel’s proud buffet. We indulged in a luxurious array of dishes, featuring high-quality ingredients like crab and Wagyu beef. And to top off the day, more hot springs! From the open-air bath, a sky full of stars unfolded, and we even saw wild fireflies dancing. The fantastic combination of the starry sky and fireflies was an unforgettable and moving experience.
３日目：ショッピングと再訪の誓い
最終日は「軽井沢プリンスショッピングプラザ」へ。全国のプリンスホテルは、どこでも均質的に高品位なサービスを提供してくれる点が、私たち家族のお気に入りです。アウトレットで買い物を楽しんだ後は、「腸詰屋 軽井沢」さんのホットドッグを片手に、混雑を避けるためお昼前には軽井沢を後にしました。
今回の旅は、軽井沢の洗練された雰囲気、万座の雄大な自然、そして嬬恋の癒しの温泉と、信州の魅力を存分に満喫することができました。また来たい！と思わせてくれる、最高の夏の思い出となりました。
Day 3: Shopping and a Promise to Return
On our final day, we visited “Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza“. We particularly like that Prince Hotels nationwide consistently provide high-quality service. After enjoying some shopping at the outlet, we grabbed hot dogs from “Chochizumeya Karuizawa” and left Karuizawa before noon to avoid the crowds.
This trip allowed us to fully experience the charm of Shinshu: Karuizawa’s refined atmosphere, Manza’s grand nature, and Tsumagoi’s healing hot springs. It was the best summer memory, making us want to visit again!
